1. Purpose
These Terms govern the use of KAI’™, a pedagogical conversational AI application for children aged 6 to 14, provided by ZenoAI Inc., a Delaware corporation based in Miami, Florida (“ZenoAI”, “we”). The App is designed for children under continuous parental supervision.
2. Eligibility & Who Can Use the App
- 2.1 Parent / Legal Guardian: Must be an adult holding parental authority, and must complete our Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC) process through a verification method recognized under COPPA, handled by a specialized verification partner.
- 2.2 Child: Aged 6 to 14, with access only through a profile created by the verified parent. Children cannot create accounts on their own. One parent account may manage several child profiles.
- 2.3 Age Range: The child interface is designed for children aged 6 to 14 and is not intended for children under 6.
3. AI Disclosure & Safety Boundaries
- 3.1 AI Interaction: The child interacts with an artificial intelligence system. A clear notice, “You are talking to an AI”, is shown at the start of every session.
- 3.2 No Human Substitution: The AI is not a human, a doctor, a teacher or a friend. It never replaces parental guidance, formal education, or professional medical or psychological advice.
- 3.3 Distress Situations: If the system detects signs of distress or sensitive emotional topics, the App pauses the conversation and encourages the child to talk to their parents or a trusted adult.
4. Child Guardrails & Prohibited Actions
- 4.1 Personal Information: The child must never type, say or share personal information such as a home address, phone number, school name, full last name, password or photograph.
- 4.2 Automatic Filtering: A real-time filter checks every input. If a child tries to share personal information, the system blocks it, replies with a short educational message, and never stores the blocked content.
- 4.3 Misuse: Attempts to bypass the App’s safety rules are prohibited and automatically blocked. They may be recorded for security purposes, without any conversation content.
5. Parent Commitments & Supervision
The parent agrees to:
- 5.1 Active Supervision: Regularly monitor the child’s use and review the conversation history in the parental dashboard.
- 5.2 Configuration: Set the child’s pedagogical permissions and age band correctly.
- 5.3 Explanation: Explain to the child that the assistant is an artificial intelligence, not a person.
- 5.4 Account Security: Keep parent login credentials confidential and never share the parent account with third parties.
6. No Ads, No Profiling, No AI Training
In line with DSA Article 28 and COPPA:
- No Commercial Use of Children’s Data: No targeted advertising, no behavioral profiling and no sale of family data.
- No AI Training: Children’s conversations, in text or voice, are never used to train, fine-tune or improve our AI models or those of any third party.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
- Conversation Processing: Conversation content is processed in real time and not retained once the session ends.
- Conversation History: Stored in the family’s region (European Union for EU residents, United States for US residents) and automatically deleted after 30 days by default, or up to 90 days if the parent chooses.
- Deletion on Request: Parents can delete their child’s history at any time from the parental dashboard. Deletion is completed on our production systems within 24 hours.

8. Subscriptions & Payments
Prices, billing periods and renewal terms for paid plans are shown before purchase. You can cancel at any time from your account, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Consumers in the European Union benefit from the statutory right of withdrawal under applicable law.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, its content, the KAI’™ and Zeno™ names and logos, and the underlying technology belong to ZenoAI or its licensors. These Terms grant a personal, non-transferable right to use the App for family purposes only.
10. Limitation of Liability
- ZenoAI: We maintain a secure infrastructure and strict data protection measures. However, due to the nature of generative AI, we do not guarantee that the AI is error-free or that its responses will always be accurate or complete.
- Parent: The parent remains responsible for supervising the child and for how the App’s educational content is used within the family.
To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is”. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or any statutory consumer rights.
11. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or close a child profile or a parent account in case of an attempt to bypass parental consent, repeated attempts to bypass the App’s safety rules, or misuse of the App. The parent may delete their account at any time from the parental dashboard; deletion is completed within 24 hours.
12. Changes to These Terms
We will inform parents of any material change to these Terms before it takes effect. Continued use of the App after that date means the updated Terms are accepted.
13. Governing Law & Disputes
- EU Residents: These Terms are governed by French law, and disputes are brought before the competent courts of Paris, France, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
- US Residents: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable US federal law, including COPPA. Disputes are brought before the competent courts of Miami-Dade County, Florida.
